Let your hair go digital!

After being a bit apprehensive about having my hair wired to a machine, I was soon relaxed after stepping into the Stylish Eleven Hair Salon which is based in Mayfair. The pleasant atmosphere was matched with friendly staff.

Eleven Hair Salon
So to start my treatment I got a quick overview of my hair condition and I am assured that my hair will be given life again (thank god) Then I was then asked if I wanted the perm to be straight or curly (because the treatment is heat activated you can choose whatever style you want) I wanted some bounce so opted for the some sexy curls.

So excited to regain my strong and healthy hair with a big bounce, we started the process:

Treatment step-by-step
  1. First, washing with a clarifying shampoo helps to remove product build-up and prepare hair for the treatment
  2. Treatments containing silk, collagen, keratin and amino acid based moisturising ingredients are applied to the hair. The head is covered to generate warmth and the treatments are left to infuse into the hair shaft for 15 minutes
  3. Hair is rinsed and a special conditioner is applied before rinsing again (This smells like roses)
  4. Then the hair is wound up into special rollers and connected to The Digital Perm machine which gently heats the rollers and dries the hair, setting it into long-lasting curls and infusing the protein treatment into the cortex of the hair. Or, hair is blow dried straight and finished using straightening irons which infuses the protein and leaves hair silky straight and smooth for days

Recommended treatment price: £60.00.

TOP TIP: Buy a Tangle Teaser these things are amazing it was a product that failed on Dragons Den but has come back fighting and glides through my ridiculous hair - They are cheap on Amazon!

Time for a Food Review

Bigger is Better

Everything is bigger in the U.S.A especially there muffins - try them from The New York Bakery Co (they don't just make bagels you know)

They have got two delicious flavours 'double cholocolate' filled with chocolate chunks topped off with dark chocolate chips.

If chocolates not your thing try the blueberry flavour, juicy and moist muffin with real blueberries (Superfruit ALERT) and they are topped of with yummy crumble.

These large muffins are a perfect indulgent treat.

Get your snack on the go

Now I hate the breakfast bars and anything really that tries to be chocolate and isnt, but these healthy treats from Nakd are actually really nice - no more cardboard taste thank you very much! With a wide range of flavours like, cocoa delight, cocoa mint, cocoa orange, berry delight, peacan pie and cashew cookie (our fave).

Price: £2.55

Some other treats from the Nakd range are their infused raisins, 'tangy lime' or 'crazy cola' - yes raisins did just get a bit better.

These raisans are tottally moreish and completely natural with no added sugar fat free and only contains 68 calories and if thats not enough they also count as one of your 5 a day!

Price: 39p

New Summer Slurp

Try bottlegreen's new exotic lime & coconut.

Fresh and fruity you do need to add a good helping of the cordial to taste the flavours - but its a godsend on hot summers day (I am hoping we will get more of these days!!!!)

TOP TIP - The cordial can also be added to cocktails like Piña Colada

Price: £3.15 - Available at Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Tesco's

Moving on to the alcohol

I recently tried Merrydown cider not only does it taste good, it's been going for a whopping 65 years and it's award-winning taste come from a recipe that includes apples fermented with yeast from the Champagne-Ardennes region.

Our mouth's our now watering!!!

Graduate Fashion Week told by a Graduate

Graduate Fashion Week held an aroma of style, fashion and excitement. 39 universities around the country were there presenting the best of their best. Walking around the stands you could see straight away the effort that was put into this years exhibitions. The stands alone were to an impeccable standard with such a broad mixture of variety.

The catwalk shows were spectacular! Showing off the most creative individual from each university. Chloe Jones, from Bath Spa University went home with the prestigious Gold award, given by the sponsors George at ASDA as well as taking the best Womanswear title with her ‘religious feel’ collection titled ‘Our Father Who Art in Heaven’, using a mixture of stone-grey chiffon and crystal embossed sweat shirting. Chloe Jones was among one of many collections that stood out for me. A few of my favourites were Amy Holden’s collection from the University of Birmingham, with her usage of beautiful, vibrant colours and textiles and Xiaoping Huang from UCLAN. Miss Huang won the Zandra Rhodes textiles award with her accordion-type sculptured outfits and bright primary colours.

I was there myself to present my own work. My studio practice is based on Colour, Glamour and Details. The main of the work is influenced by Motion, Movement and Emotion, interpreted through mediums of film and photography. My Final Major Project Collection is imagery-based and the films are inspired by links of genius and madness. An incredible fine artist who suffers from bipolar nonspecific was the inspiration for a case study: Anna Walton. The aim was not to take advantage but to learn and understand more about the condition.

Through the mediums of documentary, photography and film, I have created an own interpretation of Anna Walton’s mind. A personal interview process with me allowed her to open up about her memories and desires, which let me to a completely different side of an individual’s mind. My final film is a projection of all the insight I had into Anna’s life presented through my own interpretation of her mind.

Check out my final project here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rldhjC975es

Become a real Disney Princess at Harrods

I have always been obsessed with Disney films and as soon as I heard that Harrods was celebrating Disney Princesses I got far too excited. They have called in some fab designers to create some couture dresses that will be going on sale in November - I need to see this collection!

Some of the designers who will be bringing Disney to life will be, Valentino, Elie Saab, Versace and Oscar de la Renta and we cannot wait to see what their imagination will reveal. The dresses will be revealed at a Disney inspired window display. Each designer has taken inspiration from a particular fairy tale like Cinderella, Beauty and The Beast and Snow White.

So watch this space for more information and images!!!

See some inspired images below:

A representation of the dress Valentino will create

Similar to sleeping beauty, no?
