Amazing Cosmetics have hit the UK

The Price: 6ml, £19.50. 15ml, £29.50.
Where2Buy: Marks & Spencer's
The Gossip: Meet the beauty secret the USA has been hiding

Amazing Cosmetics has been brought to the UK through Marks & Spencer's starting off with their Hero product 'Amazing Concealer'.

The Amazing Concealer is a favorite with celebrities like Demi Moore, Miley Cyrus and Anne Hathaway and is already creating a buzz in the UK. It's not just a concealer for nasty spots but can be used to hide any imperfections from dark circles to sun damage.

There is something you need to learn before using this product - you only need the tiniest bit (a full sized tube should last up to a year):

When applying the concealer there are three points to follow:

1) Dot
2) Blend
3) Repeat!

With highly concentrated pigments, water resistance and buoyant emollient texture it allows the concealer to blend pretty effortlessly not settling on wrinkles or pores to make them stand out even more - and there is definitely a few I need to hide.

How to choose the right colour for YOU:

We had the chance to get colour matched and not everyone is just one colour I was a mix of FAIR and LIGHT GOLDEN .

The best way to find your colour is to choose three versions you think are close to your skin tone. Place a stripe of each onto your lower cheek. Your perfect shade will disappear into the skin, appearing invisible covering any imperfections.

Now you have your colour lets look at how to apply:

Well fist of all, remember Dot, Blend, Repeat!

1. Dot - only use a pin drop amount and disperse with your finger or concealer brush in pin drop amounts throughout the affected area.
2. Blend - use your ring finger and gently tap and smooth the dots of concealer to blend.
3. Repeat - if need repeat the dot and blend steps until you reach the desired effect.

There your all done and now you have a flawless complexion.

Dowal Walker Christmas in July

As we move into August we wanted to round up our last Christmas in July and again it was a fab event with lots going on including Nails inc Manicures and Browhaus threading! Along with cocktails from my favourite - Disaronno.

  • Check out my new brows from the lovely ladies at Browhaus, Brow Salon - I had them threaded and for the first time EVER dyed and I have to admit they are fuller than ever and think this will become a regular occurrence (it last around three weeks).

With my new Paul & Joe Mug

  • I also met the lovely ladies from The Perfume Society who spoke about their  luxury boxes and website that is on a mission to teach the UK about perfume even ones we may not like but to become familiar with the notes.

In our first box we received 4 large testers,  Crabtree and Evelyn, Lily hand cream, Atkinsons Versace Crystal Noir and Dali Wild. Mini testers included Miller Harris - Fleurs De Sel. Nina Ricci - L'air did temps. Chloe. Viva la Juicy Noir and Paco Rabanne - lady million.

You also get a cute notebook to keep track of the different notes and some cards with more information about each perfume.

  • We also got the opportunity to take a sneak peak at the new bottles for Nails Inc and we are loving the new Leather and Lace collection - these will be out soon.

  • The Percy & Reed brand is a newbie to us but this shine and fragrance spray has definitely made me check out this brand and its full of exciting products which we cant wait to get our hands on.

  • A brand that I do know very well is Paul & Joe and we cant wait to get our see the new A\W collection and the first thing we want are these new lipstick cases - our favourite on is the cute deer illustration.

Anyone up for a spot of Afternoon Tea?

1. The Playboy Club

Where2Go: between 5pm - 7pm  @ Salvatores Bar, Playboy Club, London
The Price: £30 per person

Last month The Playboy Club launched a playful Afternoon Tea with delicious cakes and a twist on tea & cocktails.

As you walk in live piano music is playing creating a relaxed but elegant setting to have your spot of late afternoon tea.

We first got treated to specially created Te'Freddo Teapot Cocktails developed by Salvatore himself! We went for:

SPICY - Sencha Green tea, Vodka, Lemongrass, Cardamon, Eucalyptus, Cocchi Americano aperitif and lime flavoured sugar

&

FRUITY - Lychee jasmine tea, pisco, lychee agave and peach liqueurs, white peach purée and orange juice.

These definitely tingled the senses being served in ice cold glasses and were delicious!

Iconic Bunnies who were not cheesy but absolutely lovely!!! Served up our exquisite afternoon tea with homemade savory sandwiches with a selection of Steak, Salmon and Egg variations and the cutest desserts, including the finely crafted Bunny Ear Cupcake and every Bunny’s favourite; a traditional carrot cake also a tiny macaroon and deconstructed scone.

This is somewhere I will be visiting again soon, maybe to start a night out or a pre-theatre trip!

2. Carmina Lancelot

Where2Go: Wigmore Street, London
The Price: £21.50 for afternoon tea
More Info: www.carminalancelot.com

Carmina Lancelot is a quaint cafe and perfect for a spot of some traditional afternoon tea after shopping at Selfridges (basically next door to each other)!

After sipping some classic Earl Grey tea, we received homemade scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream. A selection of sandwiches which included salmon, egg, chicken & tarragon and cucumber & cream cheese. - all free range!

It did say on the menu selection of afternoon pastries and fruit cakes (but these never appeared! I would confirm what you will be receiving before you order, not to be disappointed)

But we were so full it did not matter it was lovely to have a traditional afternoon tea.

Mani Monday - Paul & Joe

The Price: £12
The Colours: Mata Hari & Saffron Yellow
Where2Buy: Selfridges, ASOS.com, beautybay.com

Today we are featuring two beautiful, summery colours for Mani Monday and perfect for August from Paul & Joe Beaute.

The bottles are vintage inspired which look lovely on any vanity table. The two fun shades from the latest collection are bang on trend for summer and the two below are my favourites from the collection. They both showcase vivid and a glossy colours when on and dont chip easily!

Each coat is thin but due to the fast drying nature of the nail polishes its not hard work to layer up. I like faster drying polishes as I am always active and usually ruin my nails in the first five seconds - the pictures below have two coats.

Fun Fact: Paul & Joe Beaute always use organic plant oils to treat the nails to ensure they are kept healthy and strong.

The first one up is Mata Hari (09)

The next one is Saffron Yellow (11)

The Aura - GHD

The Price: £145
Where2Buy: Selfridges
The Gossip: ghd launches the Aura a hairdryer not only for drying but styling as well.

It's by time I tried out a new hair dryer as I am pretty sure mine is currently celebrating it's 10th birthday. Today the ghd Aura arrived and my it looked so pretty.

I have already experienced the Aura once with a professional blow dry from the ghd team but did not actually try it out myself!

The main aim of The Aura is to create volume and shine. ghd have used innovative technology to ensure success of The Aura and make it stand out among other hairdryers.

The laminair technology enables the air to be highly concentrated so it only works on the targeted hair not adding precision to styling and more control.

This new technology is also meant to make hair 47% more shiny with the focused airflow and speed.

The Aura also uses cool-wall technology, creating a ring of cool air around the hot air. This keeps the nozzle cool and without this heat you can get a lot closer to your scalp to enable root lift and volume, setting the style as it dries.

Top Tip: To fix your hair in place you can utilise the cold shot function.

I think the first difference between The Aura and other hair dryers was the weight - this hairdryer is so light and extremely quiet. The Aura is easy to use and your can alter the temperature to get close to the root of your hair.

I can quite easily see the added volume to my hair which is great, especially as I didn't use any product.

There was some shine added to the hair, more so when the ghd team blow dried my hair, I am interested to see if the hairdryer would help when using hair product to enhance shine as it might make them work better.

In my eyes this is a fab hairdryer and my old one is in the bin :-)

Pegasus Beauty Showcase

So earlier this month I went to the Pegasus Beauty Showcase and out of my July events this was pretty outstanding, showcasing a massive range of brands that Pegasus look after with a range of different activities and yummy drinks.

Key stalls that grabbed my attention:

The first stand we went to was #shinemeup the guest I took with me, Amy  had to first be blindfolded for this treatment to really appreciate what was going to happen. After rolling this magical nail buffer style product over the nails (I don't even think the pictures do it justice) Amy's nails were super shiny like a top coat of nail polish had been used making the nails look radiant, this really is a nail innovation.

We also met a lovely lady from The Harley Medical Range, who was showcasing the new skin care range which all had a sense of luxury to them with minimalist packaging and simple scents, but would you expect anything less?

We took part in a Lloyd's pharmacy free skin health check, which was very interesting in learning more about my skin and I recommend everyone to go to just learn a bit more about how to protect it and how to improve. I know I will be heading back soon.

We chose to check our skins age which I am happy to announce that my skin is below the ripe old age of 26 but only slightly. Some important things noted were that my skin was very dehydrated an lacking H20 making me think that I needs to start ensuring I drink more water instead of fizzy drinks. Another shocking fact was that I had a bit of pigmentation and although my foundation has SPF I need to be more careful and carry some face sun cream with me at all times to prevent any more from occurring. On a more positive note I have very firm skin :-)

We recevied some samples from a selection of the brands that we cant wait to try out:
