Unwind with a massage

Privet salon manicure

Privet, near Notting Hill is a tranquil space, with décor themed like a garden and the salon coining the phrase ‘Top to Toe Body Topiary’. Where do you go to get your nails done? In the 'Manicured Darden' of course!

All massages are bespoke and I went for the Blooming Marvellous, a full body massage which goes on for 60 relaxing minutes at a cost of £70. The first thing you get to do as part of the experience is to choose a shed for your treatment – yes your treatments happen in a make shift shed!!! You have The Writers Shed for a wannabe writer, The Log Cabin or The Potting Shed, which can only be described as something out of The Chelsea Flower Show.

I went for The Potting Shed to de-stress; with relaxing music on the vintage radio and low lightening I was ready to relax. During the massage the masseur will use Murad body-firming creams and massage oil to help you unwind. The massage was lovely, the masseur applied the perfect amount of pressure starting with my feet & legs, then back and neck moving on to my front and front legs and then arms, face and finally head. I can safely say I was very relaxed and in a tranquil state after, I even forgot my sunglasses and bank card in the loo!

Fashion Edit: AG Jeans

fashion edit
Top: Alexa Chung for AG Jeans | Skirt: AG Jeans | Jacket: AG Jeans | Jeans: AG Jeans

My love for denim has really grown this season with more versatile styles appearing and effortlessly chic style icons like Kim Sears who rocked that denim jacket during Wimbledon. So I thought I would share a fashion edit, wish list from Avenue 32 to help decide what my next denim purchase should be.

Let me know which one is your favourite?

1.     ScaredMonsters Top, Alexa Chung for AG Jeans: So my first choice is not exactly denim but this top goes perfectly with all my denim choice! It’s perfect for autumn and a great tee to bring out at Halloween. I love a fun slogan and it's already been spotted on Alexa Chung (maybe because it's one of her designs).

2.     SuedeGove Skirt, Alexa Chung for AG Jeans: You don't often see a lot of black denim that's not jeans for work but I just love this A-line mini skirt. The shape is quite unusual and males a great casual mini which can be dressed up with heels and would even look fab which the Scared Monster tee.

3. Denim Jacket, Alexa Chung for AG Jeans: Just call me Kim Sears in this little number. I think this has to be my favourite from my wish list; it’s a great wardrobe staple that will go great with anything!

4.     RippedJeans, AG Jeans: These washed out, ripped boyfriend jeans have a real vintage feel and would go with pointed heels for a more luxe look or a pair of converse!

Planning a hen do

So I have become a bridesmaid for the first time for my beautiful cousin and have the pleasure of sharing with you what the four bridesmaids planned for the Hen Party.

PREP IS KEY
Preparation is key for any hen party so make sure you scrub up on your excel knowledge as lists are key. On the day, you need to be prepared so you are ready to help out and deal with any drama, that's why I got my nails and hair done in advance, I figured if I got a blow dry it should mean my hair will look immaculate on the Friday and for the Saturday I should have a slightly disheveled yet 'on trend' style. Thanks to the newly launched Rush in Twickenham I did, I went for loose curls with some scrumptious smelling products. A simple blow dry costs around £30 which I personally feel is a bargain as I didn't need to spend hours struggling with my mane.

After that I was ready to hop in an UBER and head to South Kensington to get decorating...

DECORATIONS & GIFT BAGS
All decorations were either brought from a Party Store or hand made like the bunting and Instagram frame. I also created gift bags for each Bridesmaid which included:
  • Bright pink willy straw
  • A mini bottle of wine (either white, rose or red) from Tesco
  • Willy whistle
  • Handmade dare card using Canva
  • Lab2 blusher brush
  • Hologram glasses from Education Harbour
  • Press-on nails Fing'rs Prints in Girlie Glam
  • Party Popper

After getting all glam we headed out all dressed in black, except the bride who wore white of course, to Quaglino's which was an apt place with live music to set the right atmosphere and three courses and a cocktail all for £30 and with dishes like braised pork cheek, crispy ears, truffle mash and cider jus its too good too miss.

Outfit details: Dress: Topshop | Shoes: Primark | Bag: Jimmy Choo

SATURDAY
After getting dressed up for the day and night (as we were not going to be heading back home) we cracked open the champers and headed to the first venue of the day Chestertons Polo in the Park to watch some polo and sip cocktails out of coconuts and pineapples from the tropical Mahiki bar.

Outfit details: Top: Topshop | Skirt: Topshop (last season) | Shoes: Primark | Sunglasses: Gucci

After polo we headed down to Jak's King's Road for some wine and pizza's to share to get us fueled for a night on the town at Embargo's which is conveniently just above Jak's.

Now onto the wedding...

Clarins aquatics treasures collection

Clarins Aquatics Treasures Collection

I always look forward to seeing the new Clarins makeup collection and the Clarins Aquatics Treasures Collection for summer 2015 is no exception! The collection is beautiful and full of shimmer taking inspiration from the ocean. If you are looking for a luminous complexion and iridescent eyes then read on…

Diving into the collection we first have the instant light radiance boosting complexion base. ‘Apricot’ is best for fairer skin tones like mine and use ‘Golden Caramel’ for a more tanned look. These can be used under foundations, on their own for a touch of radiance or mix with foundation - I used it for to add a little more tan to my pale skin.

Using my real techniques blusher brush I tried the limited edition Clarinssummer bronzer which has become a permanent staple in my makeup bag. You definitely feel like you are getting your money's worth as this Clarins bronzing compact is huge and you can see the different shades on the palette to create either a sun-kissed glow to a more bronzed look.

Another part of the Clarins makeup collection is the iridescent eyeshadow in Aquatic Grey and Aquatic Rose. These summer inspired eyeshadows are cream-to-powder for a beautiful texture that blends with your natural skin tones.

Remember if you plan your purchase carefully you could be entitled to a Clarins free gift and they are usually pretty spectacular.

The full collection can be found here and starts from £19.

Also in the pictures are my new beautiful Ray Bans from Shade Station.

#LunchBreakHoliday

The sun is out in the UK and for some reason there is a Garage Festival on in Streatham Common so my friends and I headed to the common to enjoy some free music along with many other people! We took along a homemade picnic to enjoy a #LunchBreakHoliday which, Travel Supermarket is currently running a competition - make sure you check it out.

We brought some homemade gin and tonic with Gordon's gin mixed with elderflower and pomegranate cordial from BottleGreen. This was mixed with cucumber and lemon to serve as the perfect summer tipple.

For food we made some baguettes with parma ham, chorizo and philedephia and some homemade potato salad which was made with new potatoes, chives, leek, mayonnaise, lemon, olive oil, feta & olives. For dessert we had a selection of summer fruits.

After feeling stuffed and the festival in full swing we played frisbee and beach ball like kids - your never too old!

You can win a Summer party with Travel Supermarket worth £4,000. To enter, simply Tweet or Instagram your images, with the hashtag #LunchBreakHoliday (adding @TravelSupermkt on Twitter).
Applicants must be aged 18 or over and the competition closes on July 30. The office party will be held in August. See full T&Cs via TravelSupermarket.

Happy 5th birthday Topshop Beauty

Happy birthday Topshop Beauty, they have celebrated being 5 years old this year. Venturing away from fashion was a big risk but it was worth it and have grown a collection that goes from strength to strength. In celebration of this, Topshop Beauty has selected 5 of it's most in-demand products and shades from the past 5 years, I got to test three of these beauties out.

This limited edition collection of best sellers has been given a lick of new paint with new packaging and it's in my favourite colour, rose gold.

The lipsticks here are £8 in 'Nevada' a nude shade from 2013 and 'Beguiled' a wine shade from 2014.
There is also a Glow pot in 'polished' £9 -  I have used these glow pots before, part of the '70s inspired smoke & mirrors  A/W collection and from popularity this turned into a permanent staple. The glow pots are great to give your skin a boost if radiance especially with the new strobing trend hitting the UK.

You can purchase this collection in Topshop, John Lewis and Selfridges

In the pictures, my favourite Real Techniques brushes are featured using 301.
