5 scents of summer

Oh hey there Summer. Oh bye Summer – we have had a glorious few weeks but it looks like British weather is confused about the seasons yet again. You do not need to fret though I have some scrumptious scents to help you smelling all kinds of summer even if the weather is on the depressing side.
Jimmy Choo illicit flower
I used to be OBSESSED with Fierce cologne for Men from Abercrombie & Fitch so when another scent from the sister brand Hollister launched I could not wait to try it. The juicy Wave For her is one affordable babe only £19 for 30ml FYI and has got me hooked. Like any typical Hollister gal Wave For Her is sweet and innocent with citrusy power and a woody finish making me dream of a warm summers night.

Key notes: blackberry sorbet, California poppy, sandalwood.

HELP me, I am a Jimmy Choo addict! Shoes and fragrances I want them all and Illicit Flower is no different. The Illicit journey has moved to more floral scent and added juicy apricot and mandarin for a citrusy twist but keeping the floral heart notes from the original scent (full review of Jimmy Choo Illicit here). Grapefruit flower and jasmine enable a fresher base and what would a fragrance be without sandalwood. This is seductive flower and from £36, a bit of a bargain!

Key notes: apricot, mandarin, freesia and rose.

What would a list of fragrances be without a Celebrity scent and Lovely Sheer is the new day scent from the ever so stylish Sarah Jessica Parker. This refreshing scent screams summer with soft, feminine tones and all you can think ‘this is lovely’. This is truly a summer’s day packaged up. Available at Superdrug, Boots, Debenhams and The Perfume Shop for £48 for 100ml.

Key notes: orange flower absolute, bergamot sicily and pink peppercorns.

4. Jo Malone – Black Cedarwood & Juniper
A fragrance perfect for day or night! You may have already seen my full review of Black Cedarwood & Juniper if so you will be able to see that I am slightly in love, so it is a defo must in my round up. This scent sums up the summer we have had, with a little bit of “Midnight Rain” and this is what Jo Malone have encapsulated in this scent “seductive with the carnal touch of cumin and chilli leaves. Dark with cedarwood. Humid with moss. Modern and urban.” One word: LUSH. Black cedarwood & juniper is a little pricer but 100% worth it £42 for 30 ml. Shop in the UK or US.

Key notes: cumin, juniper, black cedarwood.

Trussardi Donna has been launched to celebrate the brands 100th Anniversary which is blooming incredible.  The fragrance is homage of the Maisons iconic fragrance in the 80s. Trussardi Donna eau de toilette is fresher than ever with a floral, oriental scent and the bottle also needs a mention, I love the white clean finish of the bottle and the ombre effect. Again this won't brake the purse strings from £30 for 30ml.

Key notes: yuzu, citron and water fruits.

4 Summer Scents

There are some BEAUTIFUL fragrances out right now so I thought I would share some of my faves, some of you would of already seen a few of these on Time2Gossip or my social media channels but these are my go-to scents for Spring Summer 16. For the warmer season you want a floral, lighter scent to make your feel like your running through a field of flowers. The image I have in my head is Jessa from Girls all floaty and whimsical. So which brands made the cut?
black opium YSL
Yves Saint Laurent, Black Opium Nuit Blanche
Now I first fell in love with Black Opium, YSL in the Autumn last year. YSL have done it again with a lighter interpretation in a sparkly bottle ready to party at every festival the world has going. The core notes coming through are coffee entwined in florals leaving a hint of white musk lingering. The bottle is pretty similar to the original but more translucent with a beautiful night sky. You can purchase from Debenhams for £47.

Jimmy Choo, Exotic
You have probably seen this bad boy on quite a few posts now and on my Instagram as it has definitely been MY scent since the launch, day or night it really does not matter. It looks so pretty and smells like summer with tiger orchids, patchouli, blackcurrant and pink grapefruit for a sweet and sexy fragrance. Check out my full review of Jimmy Choo, Exotic here. Buy from £44.
jimmy choo exotic
Narciso Rodriguez, Narciso Poudree
Everyone is currently wearing nudes and pale blush at the moment with the likes of Kim Kardashian bringing it back in trend and Narcisco Pudree is on fashion form for the season with this seductive scent in their signature style bottle. The core notes are jasmine petals, musk and wood. Buy from £39 here.
summer scents
Ferragamo Signorina, Eleganza
Like its name this elegant Ferragamo Signorina, Eleganza fragrance is perfect for the summer months especially as an evening scent for a more formal do - no Ibiza parties here. With fruity notes of grapefruit, pear, almond, golden osmanthus petals and patchouli you achieve ultimate luxe. Eleganza is £60 and you can purchase here.

4 Date night fragrances

After going on a romantic holiday to Iceland I thought I would share four scents I recommend for date night. Whether you’re going on a first date or like me, date number 54674 you always want to feel extra special and a little bit sexy. If you choose your fragrance wisely you can feel all of this and more 😉. You should also look into purchasing a hand bag sized version of your desired fragrance, I swear by them and Sephora or Nordstrom for my US readers have a great selection or you can purchase refillable bottles.

So onto my fave fragrances at the moment for date night:
Salvatore Ferragamo, Signorina Misteriosa
Bvlgari, Goldea
Even the bottle looks pretty darn sexy, all coated in gold. Even before I sprayed this luxurious fragrance I knew it would smell pretty darn good and as usual I was right, it smells heavenly. With top notes of crystal musk lingering with hints of orange blossom makes you smell of orient blooms. With this baby on you will feel sexy and confident and smell divine. (£103, 90ml)

Jimmy Choo, Illicit
Moving onto a more feminine fragrance and one of my all-time favourites is Jimmy Choo,Illicit. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my love for Jimmy Choo heels but this fragrance made me fall in love with JC all over again. You can see the full blown review here. Illicit is one elegant fragrance, look how beautiful it is, looking slightly similar to a crystal chandelier. This fragrance will leave you smelling of ginger, rose and jasmine with a touch of honey-amber. (£55,60ml)

Salvatore Ferragamo, Signorina Misteriosa
For something brand spanking new, Signorina Misteriosa is the one for you from Salvatore Ferragamo. With top notes of blackberry and neroli, heart notes of orange blossom and tuberose ending with black vanilla mousse and patchouli what more could a girl want?! All of these notes combine to create a fragrance that is velvety, romantic with floral notes seeping through. (Even writing this make me want to spritz right now!) (£83,100ml)

Molton Brown, Ylang-Ylang
Yes, Molton Brown does has a range of fragrances if you did not already know and it includes some of their most well know scents. One of my faves is Ylang-Ylang, offering a more relaxing scent which is perfect if you are going on a first date! The core notes are of course ylang-ylang then cardamom and vanilla. (£39,50ml)

Bvlgari, Goldea
Jimmy Choo, Illicit

Review: Fresh Couture by Moschino

When a fragrance comes from Moschino you know it will be fun and when the fragrance has a retro housewives concept it's even better! The creatives at Moschino have taken something that I despise - cleaning and turned into something couture that you love and want to take selfies with: Moschino Fresh.

The packaging and the cleaning spray bottle is everything and more for an ironic take on cleaning. The bottle is housed in an elegant coffret which you can not see inside made with quality material adding a luxurious touch of gold detailing. When you open the box you are surprised to see a cleaning bottle - genius!

By just looking at the bottle it's pretty impossible to guess what it will smell like except for maybe 'Fresh' but with top notes of Bergamot, Mandarin and Ylang Ylang you get an exotic and sparkling touch. As we delve deeper the sweet scent of Raspberry, White Peony and Osmanthus brings a touch of femininity to the scent. After a while the lingering scents are sensual Cedar Wood, White Patchouli and Ambrox. For a full bodied floral and woody fragrance. What more could a girl ask for?!

Moschino Fresh is available from Selfridges EDT 30ML £37 | EDT 50ML £54 | EDT 100ML £70

Review: Jean Paul Gaultier Glam Edition

This is my sister’s favourite parfum and I can now see why. The Glam special edition has been launched specifically for the festive season in “Classique” and “Classique” Intense. Both are a charming edition to the Jean Paul Gaultier Eau de Parfum range and the perfect Christmas treat for any lady, boyfriends are you listening?! I would be delighted to find this under my Christmas tree.

The Jean Paul Gaultier "Classique" Eau de Parfum Intense bottle looks bootilicious and sexy in gold glitter (as seen in the images), and for the “Classique” the bottle is pink glitter adding a Christmas sparkle to any occasion and would look perfect on any dressing table. Remember when decorating your house, the same as you would your tree you have to think of every element including your beauty products, gold, silver and red hues are a must.

Although the Glam editions are a special treat for Christmas the "Classique" fragrance has been around since 1993, cemented as a firm favourite since the launch. The body shaped bottle with Kardashian style curves and a corset has been there since the onset and is still with us today but this time embezzled in glitter. The bottle and fragrance embodies strong females with the Intense version adding a diva touch.

The notes in the "Classique" Intense parfum are Tiare Flower Nestles, a full blast of Gourmand notes, wafts of Orange Blossom and Vanilla. After the fragrance settles down, Patchouli makes a grand entrance adding an era of sensuality. This is definitely a date night perfume for me.

So get ready for it, the Glam edition will be available from 5th October 2015 in 100ml with an RRP for "Classique" Eau de parfum £73 and "Classique" Eau de parfum Intense at £81 both by Jean Paul Gaultier.

5 Scents Of Summer

summer fragrances
I don't know about you but I am not a 'one perfume' kinda girl, I have an array of different scents and they change with the season so I thought it would be nice to do a round up of my top summer scents that all smell divine.

1. Jo Malone, Peony & Blush Suede Cologne

First up is a brand that every girl should have proudly displayed on their mantel, Jo Malone and Peony & Blush is the perfect summer scent. This fragrance is delicate yet flirty and who in their right mind would not want to smell like peonies with a touch of red apple, jasmine, rose and gillyflower. This fragrance does tug at the purse strings a bit but I think its a worthwhile purchase.
£42, 30ml
Jo Malone and Peony & Blush
2. Crabtree & Evelyn, Parisian Millefleurs Flower Water

Next up is from a classic English brand, Crabtree & Evelyn with an opulent looking bottle, again looking a vision and great for makeup table Instagram photos. This fragrance plays homage to the 18th century taking inspiration from France with strong and vibrant scents of wild flowers contrasting against one another with narcissus, rose, tuberose, violet, french juniper, cypress, bensoin and French Elemi entwining together. This is definitely a night out fragrance, think Ibiza.

3. Avon, Cherish - ON SALE

Avon, Cherish is a cheap and cheerful scent next that wont need a credit card. The notes are filled with jasmine sambae and creamy sandalwood creating a sweet fragrance perfect for a work day as it's small enough to keep in your handbag and lasts most of the day!
50ml, £14 on sale for £8

4. Liz Earle, Botanical Essence No. 100

I am loving Liz Earle at the moment, you may have seen my recent haircare post and the fresh, floral fragrance of Botanical Essence No.100 is no different. The essence of the fragrance is to capture the joy of a British flower shop. With notes of damask rose, orange flower and Indian jasmine are gently entwined by the subtle sensuality of cypress, sandalwood and Bourbon vanilla, finished with the light, transcendent clarity of mandarin and bergamot it certainly does the job! This fragrance was originally a limited edition in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Chelsea Flower Show due to it being a hit it is here to stay and we can not be happier.
£49, 50ml

5. Ghost, Eclipse

Ghost's new summer fragrance is a fruity explosion of notes with sweet bergamot, lemon, mandarin, apple and peach that create smells of a perfect summers day. In contrast, freesia, Lotus Flower, amber, musk and rose ensure add a flirty and sensual character and with the addition of a scented body shimmer that comes with the product, Ghost Eclipse is a perfect date night fragrance.
